The easiest way to choose your size is to compare the listing measurements with a similar garment you already own that fits comfortably. Vintage and modern label sizes can vary, so please check the measurements as well as the size label.
Lay your garment flat and relaxed without stretching it. Compare the chest, sleeve and overall length using the same measuring points shown in the guide below. Allow for the layers you plan to wear underneath.
Our Condition Guide
We inspect our clothing before listing it. Pre-loved and vintage pieces may show signs of age or wear, and significant flaws are described in the individual listing. Please read the description and look through all photographs before purchasing.
Excellent Condition
Gently used, with only minor signs of wear. Small, faint marks may be present.
Good Condition
Pre-loved, with light signs of wear and some visible marks or imperfections. Check the listing for details.
Fair Condition
More noticeable wear or age-related imperfections, which may include marks, discolouration, holes or previous repairs. Check the description and photographs carefully for the condition of that particular item.
How To Measure Your Jacket
1. Start With A Jacket That Fits
Choose a similar jacket or coat that feels comfortable over the layers you normally wear. Fasten it and lay it flat on a level surface, without pulling or stretching the fabric.
2. Compare The Chest
Measure straight across from armpit to armpit. Compare this flat measurement with the pit-to-pit measurement in the listing. A garment measurement is different from your body measurement.
3. Check The Sleeves
Compare the sleeve length using the same starting and finishing points shown in the diagram and stated in the listing. Sleeve lengths can differ even when chest sizes match.
4. Check The Overall Length
Measure your comparison garment using the same points as the listing. Check shoulder width too where a measurement is provided.
5. Check Before You Order
Our measurements are approximate and taken with the garment laid flat and relaxed. If a measurement is missing or you are unsure how it was taken, please contact us before ordering.
Remember Your Layers
Leave room for a shirt, knitwear or other clothing underneath. Comparing with a jacket you already wear over similar layers is more useful than relying on the size label alone.
